Do not use Urbancrete for polished concrete as they are fraudsters: http://www.urbancrete.co.uk/ ! Has anybody had similar problems with them? It has now been 8 months and I am living in what looks like a war zone!! Mike and His wife Rebecca who own the company have repeatedly fobbed us off with excuse after excuse!!! I now just want my deposit money back as enough is enough!!!
Thinking of using this company can you tell me more of your experience with them please and what happened in the end. Thanks

Also would like to encourage people to write / e-mail Elle Decoration / Ikea magazine to let them know what sort of people they are endorsing.

DeleteThese individuals(Michael and Rebecca Green) should be brought to justice.They took my deposit and have refused to return it after 7 months of endless excuses as to why they fail to deliver on promises.Worst company I have ever come across,avoid like the plague.

ReplyDeleteI also got scammed by Rebecca Green's 'company' Urbancrete. I paid £1800 deposit then the next communication was to inform me they had been robbed and until their insurance paid out their jobs were on hold. I have taken out a court claim against Urbancrete and named her as the director, I then Emailed her a copy of the court notice and for the first time in months she had the audacity to reply telling me she is not a sole trader it is a company I am sueing (so basically screw you). I understand her nd her husband mike have done this a number of times, clearly have no shame and need to be brought to justice. Anyone looking for a good concrete company I can recommend you somebody who is decent, not overpriced and actually does the job.

ReplyDeleteJust noticed a comment by mmck has been removed what's that all about !!! .Anyway still no deposit back but every cloud has a silver lining just started a job for a tv producer and he is very interested on how urbancrete can get away with this ! , so keep your eyes open we may soon be able to see them in glorious tecnicolour !!!! . So they will either started repaying people or start losing trade ... if they have any left .

ReplyDeleteUrbancrete have refunded me £775 from my £2000 deposit on the condition that I removed the comments. Rebecca would not put the refund through until the comments had been removed.
I still think I am entitled to a full refund as the work that was done was of absolutely no value with the new supplier I went though.
I have done several home renovations in my time and my experience with Urbancrete has easily been the most painful I have been through.
On the other hand we found an alternative supplier http://polishedconcretedesigns.co.uk/ who have been absolutely brilliant. They communicated well, were responsive, fast and I am delighted with the end product - I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

ReplyDeleteThe work wasn't completed and we haven't had any of our money refunded! The work that was completed, was of such poor standard that we had to have the whole thing replaced and start again!
ReplyDeletewe have also had a very bad experience. £800 deposit in november. endless excuses for no delivery and install including illness, france, usa, damaged in transit and burglary! i'm very glad we didn't pay in full the day we expected delivery!
